Q&A about personal training, health and fitness.
How long is a personal training session?
A personal training session normally lasts an hour, depending on your needs some sessions may last longer.
What does a personal training session involve?
Every session will be different and tailored to your individual needs and fitness level. Included in your session may be, cardiovascular exercises (treadmill, boxing, bike, x-trainer), weights, and toning exercises (floor-work, Core stability).
How fit do I need to be to start?
Zero! Whatever your fitness level is a programme can be designed for you. In fact Personal training is ideal for people with a low fitness level as they get the attention and therefore the results that they wouldn’t get in a busy gym.
How often should I train?
This varies on your personal goals and how much time you want to devote to your health. If personal training will be your only form of exercise then ideally, for maximum results you should train 2-to-3 times a week. However many people train once a week, fortnightly or even once a month but also train at home with an exercise plan devised by Grange Fitness.
I'm not sure if I can afford personal training, how else can I be motivated to get fit?
As part of your gym membership, you will get a personal training programme, of the programme is good, then this can motivate you. Also, your normal gym programme will be updated regularly, unlike your regular gym.
When we set your goals, we recommend the amount of times you should train, if you reach your goals and manage to train the amount of times we recommed you will receive personal training vouchers, we see this as a great motivation. At Grange Fitness we want you to train!
My current gym is really busy, at times I have to queue to use the the equipment, is Grange Fitness like this?
Thank God no! We have set up an online booking system which only allows six people in the gym at once, therefore, no queuing!
What sort of members do you have?
We have a variety of members; young old, beginners, advanced, thin and not so thin, whatever category you fit into we cater for all! The gym is a very friendly and non-intimidating place to work out.
Great, where do I sign.......but wait, how long do I have to sign for?
We ask everyone to come in and have a look at our facilities first and meet us before committing. One of the many things we do differently from the 'chain gym' is getting you not to sign your life away! We want our members to want to come to the gym so you don't have to sign for a year, all we ask is that you give us 30 days notice if you want to stop.
