Rob HamiltonMy interest in health and fitness began back in 1987 when I first entered a karate club. Over the years I had an on-off relationship with martial arts but was always drawn to it in the end. In 2002 I pursued it with fervour and obtained my 1st Dan in Taekwondo in 2007. At the same whilst training in Taekwondo I joined a local kick boxing club and went on to obtain my black belt in 2008.It was around this time that I realised that I wanted to pursue a career in fitness. I went on to become a Gym manager in a leisure centre on the Islands of Orkney. It was here that I furthered my studies and gained my level 2 gym instructor qualification, level 1 strength training and conditioning ,GP Referral qualification and an Introductory certificate in Management through CMI. In addition to this I attended a SHOKK training course gaining a certificate in Adapting Gym Sessions for adolescents and a certificate in teaching KOMBAT to adolescents.

I left Orkney and returned to Suffolk where I went on to gain my Level 3 Personal training qualification. I have subsequently started my own personal training business. It is my intention to continue with my studies to improve my fitness and nutrition knowledge. My main interest is functional training focussing on a few pieces of equipment but with the main emphasis on body weight exercises, and incorporating martial arts training as well.

I enjoy working with the older client as I believe that if we can improve and maintain everyday activities such as co-ordination, balance, flexibility and strength, then we can improve our quality of life.

Deborah Baker I gained an MSc qualification in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia in 2010. Since then I have been working in a busy NHS hospital covering a broad range of clinical specialties. My main area of interest has always been in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy for both adults and children. Since qualifying I have provided pitch side Physiotherapy for the Suffolk FA youth teams and currently provide physiotherapy for a self help multiple sclerosis group (SHIMS). To develop the skills I use daily, I regularly undertake continued professional development by attending courses to further my knowledge to assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal problems. Prior to qualifying as a Physiotherapist, I gained a BSc qualification in Sports Therapy at the University of Central Lancashire in 2007. During my time as a Sports Therapist I worked within a sports injury clinic in Lancashire providing pitch side first aid and physiotherapy for the University. I have always had a keen interest in sport, swimming at a competitive level since a young age, playing netball for my school, university and now playing for Framlingham Finches Netball Club. I am currently working on developing my fitness so that I can participate in a charity triathlon event later this year.

Emma Gibbons

Emma GibbonsI am a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Registered Student Teacher. I have been practising yoga for 9 years and have recently completed my British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma.

I came to yoga through dance. A dancer all my life, I discovered the benefits of yoga whilst training in contemporary dance at University. I have found yoga to be a stabilising influence on my body and my life and hope to offer the same to my students. I try to offer a yoga class that gives people the time and space to focus on themselves, their body and in turn their breath and their mind. By giving the body the opportunity to ease through postures, build deep supporting strength and add flexibilty and internal space the whole of body inside and out is enhanced.

My class at Grange Fitness is purposely designed to support an indidiviuals other exercise plans, whatever they may be. It concentrates on building core strength, mobility and reducing tension, all of which will allow the body to lengthen and find more flexibilty. Students of any level are welcome at the class and I also offer targeted one to one sessions.

For more information visit www.yoagemma.com or email me on emma@yogaemma.com. Booking for the Grange Fitness class must be done in advance, directly through the gym
